Advocacy groups concerned by lack of progress in Marikana case via SABCNewsOnline

Support Campaign’s Rehad Desai says they believe the provincial NPA is trying to protect the police.

“Seventy-one police officers were recommended for prosecution by the police ministry’s own independent investigative directorate. Only eight have been in court and those counts have been postponed for the umpteenth time. We’ve got to ask ourselves, what is the NW NPA doing? What stands behind this lack of inaction? We can only believe that they are trying to protect the police.”
