Chancellor faces mounting pressure to help small business owners who ‘feel abandoned’ during coronavirus crisis

He said: "One way of doing this might be to allow people to claim in relation to these dividends with spot checks by HMRC later and penalties where over-claims have been made.

"I think this is one potential approach that HMT [HM Treasury] and HMRC should look into more closely."'Thrilled' Boris at Carrie's side as she gives birth to baby boy this morningNurse, 35, who caught Covid-19 on frontline shares heartbreaking diaryCARRIE CARRIESHow many bank holidays in 2020 and when's the next one?Kate Solomons warned that if her Leicester-based events firm Kreative Group Ltd goes bust it threatens the 150 self-employed people she provides work for.

Ms Solomons told The Sun: “My personal concern is that this is not sustainable, even if I furlough myself, I cannot live and provide for my family on just £500 a month, let alone cover my existing businesses expenses. We don’t want loans, and to find ourselves riddled with debt on the other side of this.

“And from an economic perspective, my concern is that the government's job retention schemes will fail if they don’t support the businesses who collectively employ millions of people. The SEISS and those employed people currently furloughed will only have jobs to return to if we can survive this crisis. We just want parity and the opportunity to a fair scheme that will allow us to survive and return to help rebuild the economy.

NFBP Thank you for raising awareness of this - it’s also a major issue that the £10k grants are going to commercial landlords and not the small businesses who rent their offices and desperately need the money

Also highly unfair how they fund businesses in properties whilst ignoring others (home based, shared office etc)... meaning Bob down the road, with his 'hobby' business, paying £250 rent & £0 rates gets £10k, whilst legitimate businesses working from home get nothing!

We need urgent help, not supporting SMALL ltd company directors will have a direct impact on their company, employees & the economy in general. Please listen RishiSunak . forgottenltd

Unequal treatment of PAYE and Self Assessed which includes a threshold is also an issue. LLP Partners can be excluded by 1p. Furloughing employees is time limited if owners can't continue.

Scrap HS2 and use the money to help

I have a limited company which, until the government shut the country down, was generating a good income to provide for my family. Loans are not the answer, we need grants and we need them now, in line with the rest of the working population. We won't forget GE2024

Small ltd companies with company address at home (around 500k) get nothing
