Amazon has fired at least four workers who organized demonstrations or publicly accused the company of failing to protect workers from COVID-19. Amazon pushed back on Mohamed's claims and has said it hadn't seen the complaint prior to being contacted by Bloomberg.

Amazon workers are required to meet productivity quotas and the company closely tracks their "time off task." But Mohamed claimed that on several occasions she was penalized for cleaning her workstation , using the restroom, and asked to explain minutes-long blocks of time, even time off task that occured before her shift started, Bloomberg reported.
