One of the bills seeks to allow 100% foreign ownership of 'public services' like telecommunications and transportation.

At the behest of his economic team, President Rodrigo Duterte has certified as urgent measures that allow full foreign ownership of public services and less restrictions on foreign investments.

Senator Grace Poe, as chairperson of the Senate public services committee, sponsored the Senate version of the measure in plenary on March 10 but it has yet to pass on second reading. This means that other services – like telecommunications, transportation power generation, petroleum, wire or wireless communications – would no longer be labelled as public utilities and would thus be exempt from the requirement that firms running them should be 60% owned by Filipinos.

This can be changed by a future administration naman.

😡

alexlovestotalk Are you kidding me, Alex This is insane. This is literally selling your nation to the highest bidder.

Aminin mo na duterte iaddress mo na mga Filipinos na binenta mo na kami sa China! Pag naging second class citizen mga Filipino or worse magaya sa mga uyghurs wag sana matahimik kaluluwa mo hanggang kabilang buhay!

Tangina mo po du🐢 with respect ✨

tamishaimamom Duterte: galit sa ABS-CBN at Rappler dahil sa foreign ownership kuno. Also Duterte: 🤡🤡🤡

parang binilisan ahhh takot na ba sa 2022.? pota naman dutae, i bet chinese ang nasa priority list mu magpasa ito.

This is another ploy for their hidden agenda. They questioned ABS-CBN’s Gabby Lopez’ Fil-AM citizenship & even became one of the grounds for disenfranchisement of one of the pillars in broadcasting. Something’s definitely fishy, as fishy as the West PH sea issue & vaccine mess.

Philippines for sale

For the sake of china.

What Hilary Clinton said about the Philippines is bound to happen with this President.

Binebenta na talaga tayo sa 'highest bidder' at magoukuntsabahan din sila para maging China yon.

Benta na talga tayo sa mga dayuhan. Grabe ang kagarapalan!

So galit sa abs kasi dual citizenship daw tas ngayon. Jusko.

Essential public services should never have gone out of the government in the first place. Now we'll see full foreign control. Expect to see gigantic price hikes and layoffs. They don't have an investment in our country, they just want to earn.

Tuloy tuloy ang bentahan

Mga Senador and Congressmen, pls help the Philippines! Pang personal na mga decision ni Duterte. Hindi na makabayan! Maawa po kayo!

Isn't this against the constitution?

Pagkatapos ang wps, mainland na. Duterte is turning us over to china at walang umaangal...tumutulong pa?

Im sure mga Chinese na naman priority.

. . . and 50% discount on the Philippine Government

Para sa China yan pota

Wow. Somebody stop this stupid dog. His masterplan seems to be to give away our territory AND our rights. He's obviously been paid to sell us. Isn't that treason?

parang wholesale lang ang Pilipinas ano?
