Malaysia needs to start planning for the recovery of its tourism industry, such as implementing strategies to open up its international borders to tourists who have received the COVID-19 vaccine jabs, once the Movement Control Order 3.0 ends.
Malaysian Inbound Tourism Association president Uzaidi Udanis said that in its efforts to revive the deteriorating tourism industry, Malaysia should look at and study other country’s best practices, such as Qatar, the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates .

Only when local Vaccination completed can we roll out our welcoming carpet to outside world. Our management of the pandemic is a mess so how to expect safe tourists to come except those from worst affected countries like India whose intention is to escape covid-19 at home.

I am actually partial to this idea. Fully vaccinated people pose less threat & giving them privileges will encourage more people to vaccinate. You tell them they can cross borders, see lah how many Malaysians will rush to line up for vaccination!
Err sorry no! What if they bring new variants? Are the tourism industry willing to pay the healthcare costs from it? Selagi Msia’s vaccination rate is still very low, no tourists!
