An accused burglar was nabbed inside a Jefferson County business after cutting a hole in the fence.

A Birmingham man is in custody after authorities say he was caught inside a Jefferson County business he was burglarizing. Deputies responded just before 2 a.m. Monday to B&P Enterprises on Pawnee Village Road on a report of a burglary in progress. When they got to the business, deputies found a hole had been cut in the perimeter fencing, said Sgt. Joni Money.He tried to run from deputies and once caught, resisted arrest, Money said.

John Adam Mitchell, 46, is charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, first-degree theft of property, resisting arrest, attempting to elude and four counts of breaking and entering a vehicle.Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
