Disney\n \n is planning to freeze hiring and cut some jobs as it strives to move the Disney\n \n + streaming service to profitability against a backdrop of economic uncertainty, according to a memo seen by Reuters on Friday. Chief Executive Bob Chapek sent the memo to Disney’s leaders, saying the company is instituting a targeted hiring freeze and anticipates “some small staff reductions” as it looks to manage costs.
The streaming service is known for original series including the “Star Wars” entries “The Mandalorian,” “Andor” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” the Marvel entries “WandaVision,” “Hawkeye” and “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” and content hubs for Disney, Pixar, Marvel and “Star Wars” films. Wall Street analysts voiced concern about Disney’s escalating streaming costs.

Disney has priced out many many American families. It used to be realistic to save up in a family budget for a family vacation. That's just not possible for many now. Disneyland in CA stopped offering family memberships for locals years ago. So sad.

I have Disney plus now, although not by choice. Hulu now includes it-no choice (with a price increase of course). Hulu best option for my local stations and sports so I pay for Disney, but have no interest in watching it.
Give me a break on the corporate whining already. They've made record profits because of price gouging!
