The company has announced it is expanding its Associate-to-Driver training program.
Walmart employees who work at a company location within a 50-mile radius of Pottsville are eligible to apply for the 12-week program. This include stores in the Harrisburg, Lebanon, Hamburg, Reading, Bloomsburg, Selinsgrove and Lancaster areas among other locations.Take a look inside Walmart’s new 1.8-million-square-foot fulfillment center
Since the program was announced last year, Walmart has trained 56 associates from various supply chain roles, giving them a path to earn their commercial driver’s license and become Walmart truck drivers. Walmart is now expanding the program to include store associates at 439 Walmart stores that are within a 50-mile radius of a hiring transportation office. In Pennsylvania, Walmart’s transportation offices are in the Pottsville, Tobyhanna, and Woodland areas.
