Hannah Todd, 37, had worked at The Interesting Eating Company on Allerton Road for 12 years, taking over the venture in 2022. The shop, which offered a varied brunch and lunch menu, was a popular spot in the area.
Several food and drink venues in the Allerton Road area - and indeed the wider region - have closed down in recent months, with many blaming both the cost of business and the cost of living. "The cost of food and energy has gone through the roof and, due to the cost of living, customers aren't able to spend as much - which I totally understand. It's pretty painful."
Elaborating on this, the businesswoman said: "I've had to close through no fault of my staff. It doesn't matter that I'm not employing them anymore, they were still the most important part of my business.
