Lawyers for the couple, worth £7.8billion according to last year’s Sunday Times Rich List, say Mrs Flanders first joined the family’s 100-strong staff as a cleaner in 2007.Lawyers for Sir James say the job gave Mrs Flanders “extensive access to . . . private and confidential information”. Before being made redundant last August they say Mrs Flanders downloaded 5,000 emails and sent five photos taken inside Dodington Park to her private email address.
They say she also made a secret tape recording of two senior estate staff and downloaded Lady Deirdre’s medical records.
