This former Apple CEO says that a lesson from Steve Jobs can help startups navigate through the coronavirus crisis: 'Zoom out, think beyond'

Former Apple CEO John Sculley thinks that once the coronavirus pandemic is over, the US economy will enter a new age of innovation.

So says John Sculley, a former CEO of Apple who points to the recent increase in telehealth and remote work as the foundation for some big breakthroughs. He offered an example of how that applied to the computer industry's early days. "The first product to actually use Moore's law was Microsoft, with personal computers," he said, an innovation that had everyone in Silicon Valley thinking that personal computers were going to be a game-changer for businesses, scientists and engineers.

"I think that a leader has to be able to have the curiosity to have a different frame of mind," Sculley said. "So when you go through a major event like the coronavirus, I say the advice of Steve Jobs- zoom out, think beyond," and find a way to make an even bigger impact on the world.
