Unions NSW Secretary Mark Morey says the ban on construction work across Sydney will have a “dramatic effect” on the industry and the economy.

“About $7 million a week is now going to be lost, and that’s not just thinking about the flow on to other businesses that are suppliers in the industry.

Mr Morey told Sky News the state government needs to provide greater clarity to worker in New South Wales because there is still a lot of confusion surrounding who is an essential worker.“We haven’t had clear guidelines distributed across industries. You’ve got retail now partially shut down as well.“The issue is not what the rules are, the issue is clarity and having that message clearly put out to workers in NSW.
