Additionally, visitors are drawn to the family charm of Applecrest, he said. Wagner spent his entire upbringing working on the farm. His parents were supportive of him moving away to pursue a career in film, but he ultimately returned to work alongside his children and nearly 80-year-old father.
Applecrest's harvest festival is the farm's largest and most notable event. Every Saturday and Sunday from September through October, Applecrest presents a featured band, free pie-eating contests, and games and activities. To facilitate festival weekends and the peak season, Wagner hires an additional 150 workers to support the business.
