BEIJING : China has placed U.S. companies Lockheed Martin Corp and Raytheon Technologies Corp under sanctions over U.S. arms sales to Taiwan.

Beijing says that the self-ruled island of Taiwan is a breakaway province that must be reunified with the mainland.
