Chukwuekezie, who owns a chain of businesses in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, spoke in the state capital recently at the opening of the group’s new state-of-the-art business edifice, housing a mart and popular eatery, Tantalizers.
He decried the failure of policies of successive governments that have led to the current condition of the nation, where inflation is on the rise. “We cannot shy away from the fact that government decisions and governance style affect local businesses. Everyday the situation deteriorates. It is not just this administration, it is a product of the many years we never got things right, leading to our poor foreign exchange rate and inflation. The situation is not hopeless, we already know where the problem lies, it is the will power that we lack,” the businessman said.
He, however, commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for the peace and security of lives and property that residents of Akwa Ibom State enjoy and how it has positively impacted on businesses in the state.
