The Merritt Island mansion at 205 Hacienda Drive, officially known as 'Hacienda del Sol' and sometimes referred to as the 'White House of the South', is on the market with a $6.8 million price tag after it sold for $4.5 million in 2021., it was the second-priciest single-family home deal in Brevard County history.
The home overlooks the Indian River from its large 7.7-acre lot. The property includes 22,000 square feet of living space, including the 14,755-square-foot main house, the guest cottage, pool house and caretaker’s residence. Plus, there is a 50,000-gallon saltwater swimming pool and a half-acre koi pond.
at 6855 S. Tropical Trail in Merritt Island on Jan. 25. The previous buyer for Hacienda del Sol was from Hong Kong, and the buyers for the Tropical Trail home are from California. The number of people who moved to the Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville metro, often called the Space Coast, increased 15% from 2019-2022, according to a National Association of Realtor analysis of U.S. Postal Service change of address data.
