PUTRAJAYA: A chief executive officer and a company advisor have been remanded for four days for allegedly bribing the enforcement officers of a ministry.

Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim ordered for the two to be remanded until April 29 to allow the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to probe the allegations.The suspects were brought to the magistrate's court here at 9.30am on Friday .

Handcuffed and clad in the unmistakable orange MACC lock-up garb, the two hid their faces from the media as they were brought into the court complex. The company adviser is a 55-year-old with a Datuk title. He was arrested at 11am on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur. Later at 5.30pm, the 49-year-old chief executive officer, who has a Datuk Seri title, was arrested at the MACC headquarters after she came to give her statement.

Sources believe that the two were working in cohorts to bribe enforcement officers of a ministry to not take action against the company for illegal deposit activities sometime in 2017.
