There are several advantages to this model as others point outYet, generating demand is expensive and leads to high burn rates. Xometry has raised more than $110m. Even so, ballooning revenues and the promise of profitability are driving investors’ interest.
Xometry is trying to counter this threat by using CAD integration to simplify order submission. It is also tying suppliers into their network by providing them with supplies as well as orders. That also helps establish accurate price estimates.
