that European subsidies to the company Airbus — a multinational, European aerospace corporation that manufactures airliners — were illegal, and that they had cost American aerospace business, specifically Boeing, billions of dollars over the last 15 years. The U.S. was granted the right to place tariffs of up to $7.5 billion annually on European goods in order to recoup those billions of dollars that Boeing lost in competition to the subsidized Airbus.

U.S. coal-fired power plants closing fast despite Trump's pledge of support for industryThe coal industry in the U.S. has been in steep decline for a decade due to competition from cheap and abundant gas and subsidized solar and wind energy, along with rising public concern over coal’s contribution to climate change And eu converting/closing coal plants doesnt help them for demand too .. And price ... 🤔 As a former working life long coal miner (retired) this is sad to me. I do know it is inevitable and necessary but regret that the opportunities I had will not be available to future generations. “Beautiful beautiful clean coal” ~trump~
