NSTnation: A viral WhatsApp message claiming that the HealthMinistry has directed anyone who recently visited the Ipoh wholesale market to undergo Covid19 screening is fake. fakenews coronavirus

Perak Health Department director Datuk Dr Ding Lay Ming said the Kinta district Health Office conducted an investigation of the matter and confirmed that no such directive was issued.

The viral message states that anyone who visited the Ipoh wholesale market between Thursday and Saturday should go to the nearest hospital or health clinic for screening to ensure they are not infected with Covid-19. Dr Ding said tests conducted on the 42-year-old man's body at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here found that he was not infected by Covid-19.
