Baseball is so broken that perfect games no longer matter. A game wholly dominated by numbers has now become a slave to them — even at the expense of history. by MattDSchubert

Opening day at Coors Field? Check. An evening with the Nuggets at Ball Arena? Check. The purchase of a brand-new Subaru Outback? We’re just going to assume that’s a check as well. And now, the true pièce de résistance: House hunting in the insanely expensive Denver metro real estate market.

Oh, and it also has four bedrooms and 12 bathrooms — which might be the most bizarre bedroom-to-bathroom ratio the Grading the Week staff has ever seen. Such was the case earlier this week when Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts opted to remove Clayton Kershaw after seven innings when he was throwing a perfect game.

On the face of it, the decision sounds reasonable enough. Kershaw is coming off an injury that kept him out of last year’s playoffs, the lockout robbed him of a full spring training to slowly ramp up his pitch count, and he’s an important piece in the Dodgers’ quest to return to the World Series.
