NJ Cannabis Insider will reveal the Publisher’s Choice awards winners leading up to the gala

in Galloway, a self-described serial entrepreneur who founded the education company Our Community Harvest, and the author of multiple books with the aim to inform the public about the cannabis plant. He’s also part owner of Garden State Canna Collective, a woman business enterprise comprised of diverse partners that recently won a cultivation license in North Jersey.

On the day the cannabis market opened in New Jersey, a tireless Mejia moderated a discussion with more than 40 professors from across the country who joined him on Zoom to collaborate and discuss developing standards to teach cannabis at their campuses. Among the professors in attendance were several from New Jersey universities, including Rowan, Raritan and Montclair State.

He credits his family, many of whom were educators — his father a social science teacher and his mother a journalist — for his knack and deep drive to educate and inform.
