The federal government through the Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department(CLRD) of the Nigerian Postal Service(NIPOST), on Wednesday, impounded

several unregistered, unlicensed, illegal operators of courier and logistics services in the federal capital territory, FCT and its environs.

DAILY POST learnt that the Enforcement Operation was carried out by a combined team of NIPOST officials, armed mobile police officers and Men of the Force Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department . The General Manager, Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department , NIPOST, Mr G. ‘Dotun Shonde on behalf of the Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO, Rt Hon, Sunday Adeyemi Adepoju, he expressed deep concern over the reckless display of unethical sharp practices by some of the Operators, especially the unlicensed and unregistered ones nationwide.He emphasised that operating without a valid license is a crime against the state.

He explained that similar enforcement activities was successfully conducted recently in Ondo State, Rivers State, Edo State, Ogun State, Oyo State, Lagos State, and Abuja again this year. According to him, over five hundred Unlicensed and Illegal Courier and Logistics Operators has been apprehended and prosecuted.
