Sky News Political Reporter Joel Philp says support from the Greens is needed to pass energy legislation, as the Coalition wants compensation for coal companies if operating costs are above price caps.

“Any companies which have an operating cost which is above that cap, those companies could be compensated in negotiations,” Mr Philp said.

“The Greens say they don’t want that to occur, that fossil fuels companies shouldn’t be compensated.”

Gotta love when even Labor can’t crack a deal with the Greens. They are so unrealistic and narrow minded.

How can the government legally cap prices (lower profits) and not provide compensation?
