The U.S. environmental regulator said on Tuesday it sent the White House its final plan to slash interstate smog and soot pollution from the power sector, but big energy companies warned that the measure on track to be finalized next month would cost them billions of dollars.

That estimate is 16 times higher than the one by the EPA, whose assessment for the industry would factor in less than 100 engines for Kinder Morgan, the company said in its letter to the agency.“It would likely take at least until 2045 to implement the across all of the engines that currently exceed the proposed emissions limits,” it said.

NOx is a precursor form of pollution that reacts with sunlight to create other pollutants, such as fine particulate matter and ground-level ozone. Fine particle and ozone-related pollution from power plants cause 8,000 premature deaths each year, tens of thousands of new asthma cases, thousands of heart attacks and millions of lost school and work days, according to EPA.

How's East Palestine OH and all that ethanol and vinyl chloride going. You know the mix that was detonated by 'authorities' how about LA? The smog on your car when disney is letting off tonnes of fireworks EVERY night in anehiem? Seriously....

not really concerned with energy sector profit margins.

Pick the correct option, the cost to the energy companies, for soot emission reduction or the long term health and monetary costs to individuals and society in dealing with willful negligence aftermath.

Let me tune up my violin. Someone’s going to sing a sad song but it really depends on what they are actually complaining about.

whats the soot of the rail burn pit in comparison to new rules? Seen cars? Lakes riverS?

U.S. oil industry flags concern about EPA's methane 'super emitter' planU.S. oil industry groups said on Monday they are concerned the Biden administration's proposed plan to crack down on methane emissions gives too much power to environmental advocacy groups, by forcing companies to react when third-parties report suspected leaks of the powerful greenhouse gas. I would too.. we should be capturing it for use as a secondary energy source not a harmful byproduct. Literally do not give a fuck what the oil industry is concerned about. The EPA is just like the ATF. They dont make laws. Theyre not entitled to make laws. Their ' rules ' dont apply to anything because theyre not laws and they can get fucked. They just got smacked down for that once last year by the SCOTUS. Im surprised they still exist after that!
