The DOT said today that it plans to issue new rules on train brakes and other items in the wake of the derailment in Ohio and is also calling for action from Congress and the firefight rail industry.

They’ll also initiate focused safety inspection programs on train routes over which hazardous materials travel as well as of older tank cars “and the shippers and railroads who have chosen not to upgrade to the safer tank cars.”

I dont understand why govt can't be proactive Why must people lose their lives or suffer other harm before government takes action

Obama put them in and Trump took out the rules and now the mess we have in Ohio and also Michigan. Congress needs to put them back in which were removed.
