Confirming the fire incident to LEADERSHIP the command’s public relations officer Saminu Yusif Abdullahi said the command received a distressed call from one Aliyu A. Alkassim at 05:23 am yesterday and responded by sending their men to put out the fire.
On their arrival at the scene of the incident, at about 05:27 am they realised that about six shops and 74 improvised or temporary shops were engulfed by the fire. The PRO stated that its men successfully saved several shops within the market area from being consumed by the fire. Abdullahi reveals that no one sustained injury and there was no loss of lives as a result of the inferno.He said till the time of filing this report the cause of the incident was still unknown.
