Cape Town commuters are bracing themselves for yet another week of no taxis as negotiations between the government and the SA National Taxi Council stalled on Sunday night. On Monday morning, parts of the N2 highway were closed as disgruntled taxi owners blockaded the road with their vehicles. Traffic officers were deployed to attend to incidents of public violence and the road was closed at the R300 and Airport Approach Road, said Cape Town Traffic Services spokesperson Kevin Jacobs.Get 14 days free to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
