Kids will bake their best apple treat in new contest by Riverview Farmers Market

Following their popular contest to see who had the best Peach Pie this past summer, the Riverview Farmers Market in Jersey City Heights will have their first-ever Kids Apple Dessert Baking Contest at their annual Fall Harvest Festival on Sunday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“On the heels of our celebrated Peach Pie Contest, we wanted to create an opportunity for local youth who are interested in baking to join-in on the fun,” said Rachel Meyers, president of Farms in the Heights, the local non-profit responsible for the Riverview Farmers Market. “The Fall Harvest Festival has become a cornerstone community event over the past few years, and we’re excited to continue to build on this seasonal tradition.
