Woolworths wants to acquire Absolute Pets as it continues to push into the expanding pet care market in South Africa.

Woolworths Holdings Limited intends to buy Absolute Pets as it seeks to expand its operations in the growing pet care market.

“Pet care is an attractive and rapidly developing market with substantial growth potential. It is also an increasingly important category for Woolworths customers, who consider their pets an integral part of their families,” WHL said. Absolute Pets CEO Stephen Warner and the current management team will continue to lead the brand following the transaction.
