The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Olawale Edun, says the good of Nigeria is the uppermost priority of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration despite the economic hardship Nigerians grapple with. Edun made this known on Friday at an event in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He said the economy would experience growth. According to him, the economic growth of Nigeria remains a top priority for Tinubu.

He said, 'What is good for Nigeria is uppermost in our minds, not what the International Monetary Fund, IMF, or any other foreign organisation thinks. 'By God's grace, under the able leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we will move forward with this economy, and Nigerians will smile again.' DAILY POST recalls that the National Bureau of Statistics said food inflation soared to 35.42 per cent in January 2024. This has further increased Nigerians' cost of living.
