Coega: Growing trust drives increased Chinese investment in EC special economic zone

The Coega Development Corporation said that building trust has resulted in growing interest from Chinese investors and companies in its Eastern Cape economic zone.

Speaking to News24 this week, CDC spokesperson Ayanda Vilakazi said the corporation finalised its memorandum of understanding with the China Construction Bank Corporation at the beginning of the year. First announced in August last year, the MoU is expected to establish Coega as a global strategic partner with China's third-largest commercial lender and also promote business expansion and development between the two countries.
