Microsoft — The tech giant slipped 1.6% after being hit with widespread tech outages from the CrowdStrike update. American Express — Shares fell nearly 2% after the financial company reported second-quarter revenue of $16.

Revenue also beat, coming in at $9.14 billion versus the $9.08 consensus estimate. Arm Holdings — The chipmaker gained nearly 3% on the back of an upgrade at Morgan Stanley to overweight from equal weight. The bank said Arm's products are fundamental to the successful emergence of edge artificial intelligence. Shares have already doubled this year.
