THE Department of Energy said Wednesday that eight of nine companies that expressed interest in bidding for several areas offered in both the 1st BARMM Conventional Energy Bid Round and the 2024 Philippine Bid Round have advanced to the next stage.The bidders were composed of six international and three local firms.
The DoE and the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy said three applications were received for BARMM — one each for Pre-Determined Area -BP-1 , PDA-BP-2 , and PDA-BP-3 .For the Philippine Bid Round, the DoE received five applications for native hydrogen exploration in Central Luzon in areas between Pangasinan and Zambales, three for PDA-PH-1 bloc and two for PDA-PH-2.A bid was also submitted for PDA-PD-2 bloc , but was disqualified due to incomplete documentation.
