At its first-ever South African Summit, Huawei Cloud South Africa announced several AI-focused services, including Pangu models.

Huawei also confirmed that its Cloud Stack 8.5 and Flexus Cloud solutions are locally available., which is notable given the company’s cloud services division has been in operation in SA for five years now. The Summit detailed what milestones Huawei has achieved in half a decade, as well as what is on the horizon for the company.

Mark Chen , president of Global Solutions and Sales at Huawei Cloud, unpacked the new arrivals. He noted that the industry-specific Pangu Models will be introduced to the market to tackle complex issues for South African enterprises. Along with the foundation models, the company announced the availability of its Cloud Stack 8.5, with the 8.3 iteration being brought to the fore“This new offering will take a hybrid approach and bring advantages of more powerful cloud infrastructure, advanced cloud services and better industry-specific solutions within Huawei’s Cloud Stack,” added Chen.

Either way, Huawei Cloud South Africa wants to have a breadth of services available for whatever needs its customers have.
