President Xi Jinping has promised to crank the Chinese economy open to overseas companies, in a speech that also criticised protectionism. Speaking at the opening of the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, Xi promised more market-opening steps were coming. He also pledged to reduce restrictions on foreign investment. He told an audience at the trade show, including the leaders of France, Greece, Jamaica and Serbia.
