Sterling has gained 0.2% against the US dollar and the FTSE 100 has received another leg up after a cabinet minister said he expects Boris Johnson to return from hospital shortly. Robert Jenrick, the housing minister, told BBC radio that the prime minister should be back at work “shortly”.
