PETALING JAYA: The Transport Ministry was responsible for awarding contracts via direct negotiations that were worth RM4.477bil during the Pakatan Harapan administration, the most of any ministry.

A total of four contracts via direct negotiation were awarded by the Transport Ministry, with the highest being that of the RM4.475bil contract awarded to Dayu Maju LTAT Sdn Bhd for the Klang Valley Double Track project.

The Defence Ministry and the Home Ministry had awarded six contracts worth RM900.86mil and eight contracts worth RM517.68mil respectively. DAP’s Gobind Singh Deo and Zuraida Kamaruddin – who was then in PKR but is now in Bersatu – had helmed the ministries respectively at the time. The Finance Ministry released the list and details of the 101 contracts worth RM6.61bil on Wednesday .
