Of course, you don't need to wait until you're 100% convinced you're going to be successful. That might never happen. A good way to address your readiness to change is to create two different pros and cons lists. Make the first one about the pros and cons of making the change you're considering.

AmyMorinLCSW 1. Don't make New Year's resolutions. If you want to change something, start in the middle of the year, in the middle of the month, in the middle of the week, in the middle of the day. The point is to start now, and keep starting. No perfection with arbitrary time delineation.
