The film opens with a woman striding through the empty streets of Stockholm in a dramatic, floaty red dress. Flash forward to the next frame and we find her in Blom’s atelier, selecting from racks overflowing with colourful ballgowns. The model seemingly floats through the building, gazing over the balcony, running up and down the stairs and through the hallways, exhibiting a different dress in each shot. In a voiceover, Blom describes what the clothes represent.
