As it looks toward the future, the Saskatchewan government is hoping to secure economic buy in from Indigenous people.

That sentiment was one of many discussed among the throng of visitors who packed themselves into the Saskatchewan Legislative Building for the release of the 2022-2023 provincial budget Wednesday.

The budget included $475,000 to create the corporation, which documents say will “offer $75-million in loan guarantees for private sector lending to Indigenous communities and organizations for investments into natural resource and value-added agriculture projects.” “But I can just say broadly, and overall, I think it’s good news for First Nations.
