Sullivan is the son of a fish harvester, Lloyd Sullivan of Calvert. Keith Sullivan began working at the FFAW 10 years before being elected president. “It’s the greatest privilege to work with the people here and all the workers in our union. It’s been incredible and I feel very lucky to have done it,” he said. “I think, probably the most privileged position in this province. That’s my belief.

“It is an industry that’s very demanding, and whoever takes it over needs to have a good head on their shoulders and know what this industry is about and where it’s headed,” said Childley. “It should be an adult conversation, instead of what we sometimes see … banging fists on the table and saying, ‘buy our stuff.’”And he acknowledges the job of FFAW president is a tough one.Ryan Cleary was also surprised by Sullivan’s announcement.
