This presents a challenge to Title IX law, which demands rough parity between men’s and women’s collegiate sports. That rule is still in place for athletic scholarships and the costs of athletic recruiting. But there’s so much potential marketing money at stake that this gender imbalance poses a real threat to the Title IX regime. The law and colleges will need to adjust to the new reality.
