Avery’s Savory Popcorn has created packaging with allergy declarations for all new orders.

an announcement on Dec. 30

that it is recalling all flavors of its gourmet popcorn distributed between Nov. 20 and Dec. 20, 2022, because the packages may contain the undeclared allergens milk, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and sulfites. The product was shipped directly to consumers in Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, and Texas.Avery’s Savory Popcorn owner Sherry Avery says an inspection by the Texas Department of State Health Services found that the labels on the popcorn packaging did not declare allergens. The company issued a recall on products distributed without the label, and immediately instituted a label change on all subsequent products.

Avery’s Savory Popcorn was founded in 2017 by Sherry and Allen Avery and their children Steffon and Aleisha. They sell more than 30 different flavors of gourmet popcorn, like Dill Pickle, Bacon Cheddar and Cornfetti. Their products are available at both the downtown Dallas storefront and online.
