The former opposition party has since joined the former governing party in a Government of National Unity .It says the renewal the President spoke of during the address mirrored that of the ANC. The party adds that Ramaphosa’s conduct violated multiple provisions of the Electoral Act, the Electoral Code of Conduct and the Constitution.The DA adds that Ramaphosa’s conduct constituted a criminal offence, rendering him liable to a fine or imprisonment of up to 10 years.However, there is no indication whether it took this step, almost three months after the elections.
