The latest No Drop report reveals widespread unregulated water loss and consumption issues.

Gauteng is facing a critical water crisis, with Rand Water warning that the province’s water storage may soon run dry.

The No Drop report states that physical water losses, accounting for 33%, can be attributed to widespread leaks, illegal water connections, and unregulated water use. In light of this, Riskonet Africa has urged businesses to urgently assess their risk management strategies to prepare for potential operational disruptions caused by water shortages.

Principal of Strategic Risk at Riskonet Africa, Volker Von Widdern says households and businesses should consider rainwater harvesting. “There’s no point in letting water run all the way down to the rivers only to pump it all the way back through leaking pipes.
