"Employers also need policies to address out of hours conduct that has a sufficient connection with the workplace," the group argued, using the example of a work Christmas function.

The draft bill was "unbalanced, unworkable and unfair upon employers", as well as being inconsistent with existing workplace laws, the AIG said. Over time the courts had developed principles about where and when employers could regulate their employees' actions outside work and the proposed laws "would disturb these principles in a major way", the group said.

michaelkoziol Good, because as an agnostic person, why should religious beliefs, faith and opinions be brought into the work environment? I have my own thoughts outside of the office and that is where they’ll stay.
