Limpopo MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, has denied allegations of tribalism after she allegedly showed disdain to multi-award winning Xitsonga music legend, Dr Thomas Chauke.
The Democratic Alliance says it wants to take action against Moraka for her alleged actions during the Mapungubwe Arts Festival in Polokwane over the weekend. Chauke’s performance was stopped during a second song after Moraka allegedly uttered unsavoury words against the Xitsonga music, saying it is too noisy and she does not understand the language. She says, “I did not grab the mic from the musician. I am the one who insisted on Chauke to be included on the line up. These allegations are baseless. I don’t deal with artists, I was not even close to that process of managing the flow and movement of artists.
