State Local Government Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the claim would be for losses, damage and consequential costs the state has to bear due to the incident.
"A police report has been lodged by the owner of the overhead pedestrian bridge, namely the Penang Island City Council . We hope the police will investigate the matter," he told newsmen here today. "We will look into the possibility of constructing a new pedestrian bridge, but for now, it is important to put in a zebra crossing first," he said.
