Watch the video below for more on the story:Numsa Spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola says the unions were not consulted about the decision.
“We are quite shocked and dismayed by the decision to cancel so many routes. This is going to have a devastating impact on the workforce. What they’ve done today is … we can’t express how shocked we are. What worsened the situation is that as we were engaging on this issue they went and issued a statement to the media to show that there was no consultation with labour. To date, we don’t have a business rescue plan.
Sacca’s Deputy President Christopher Shabangu says the decision to cancel the routes was not based on any evidence. He says SAA’s business practitioner must be replaced urgently. “What we are going to court for is we believe the BRP is not independent as required by the law. They are influenced by the board. We need people that are going to take labour seriously and have a plan to deal with issues at hand.”This entry was posted on 06 Feb 2020,08:50PM at 8:50 PM and is filed under
I heard SAA cancelled Durban route ad now KZN Premier is crying like a baby..thank God! He is feeling the consequences of employing the cadres, uneducated friends..Premier go and ask your uncle Zuma why? More yet to come....I say wait for civil war...thank you ANC
kulula & British Airways gonna cover up.
SAA is supposed to be be sold to a private company, it is not mean to operate profitably, the deal was made long ago...When you think ANC gives a fuck about you, think again...
Sale this thing once for all
An airline might close a route but cancel a flight, .
Da Texi indastri shuld bai SAA .
It's a sign of a poor Leadership and Management crisis in South Africa and it's a disgrace to ANC Government, they should be ashamed of this because they are leading the country
Why?
These is the likely end of SAA. It faithfully joins its counterparts in the continent in failing to be a prosperous airline!
But they failed to close flights to China and affected countries😕
The sad, broke airline....
